Rise Up

(From The Book Dear Journal)

Rise up and be strong
You must move on
For your nation and your children’s sake but
most of all for your own

Rise up rise up and be strong
I know this world rotates and flips your emotions
mixing them all around
Your brain gets poisoned with all the pollution
You get exposed to negative people putting
negative things on your mind
You once washed your hands of all sin
The exposure to the filth has pulled you back in
and brought you down
Now in the sea of impurity is where you drown
There’re times in our life when we run into road
blocks but we must not stop
Many don’t want to see you reach the top
I’m here to tell you the things you want in life is
never too far away
Bow your head and pray everyday
Live life the righteous way never run astray
You were not put here to fail
We shall prevail

Rise up and be strong
You must move on
For your nation and your children’s sake but
most of all for your own
Rise up rise up and be strong

We all struggle you’re no different from anyone else
It’s all a part of G’d’s plan to test the strength in us
These trials and tribulations may cause
unbearable pain
You may fall while walking down your path but
you have to rise up and walk again
Put your faith in G’d and love him
He will brighten the spiritual light inside you that is dim

Rise up and be strong you must move on
For your nation and your children’s sake but
most of all for your own
Rise up rise up and be strong

Take it one day at a time just hold your ground
Look your destiny in the eye
This judgment we will all have to face
Just the thought of that may make you cry
My people dry your tears
Walk with your head held high
You will find the love that will feel your cup
My people rise up
